The Analogue Studio is ireland's only 19th century photography studio. Specialized in wet plate collodion and vintage portraiture, this unique studio is based in Dublin's South William street. Italian photographer and award winning documentary cinematographer Alex Sapienza has immersed himself in the arcane art of 19th century photographic techniques creating unique one off images on glass and aluminium using a victorian camera and lens from the 1860's
Alex latest work icludes collaboration with actor and Hollywood director Mel Gibson, Adam Clayton from U2, Bob Geldof and many other artists from Ireland and abroad.
The Analogue Studio has resurrected the lost art of aluminium and glass photography, using the processes and techniques from the first, golden age of portrait photography. Now after 100 years commercial wet plate photography has made a return to Dublin.
